Products & Memberships

Products define what you sell. Memberships are the access records connecting contacts to products. This page explains both.

Understanding the Difference

Think of it like: Products are the "what", Memberships are the "who has it".

Managing Products

Products are managed at Products (/admin/products).

Creating a Product

  1. Go to Products
  2. Click New Product
  3. Enter:
    • Name - What members see (e.g., "Premium Membership")
    • Description - Brief explanation of what's included
  4. Configure pricing (see Pricing Options)
  5. Link to collections (what content this grants access to)
  6. Save

Linking Products to Collections

Products control what content members can access:

  1. Edit the product
  2. Under Collections, select which collections this product grants access to
  3. Save

Members with that product can access all pages in those collections.

Managing Memberships

Memberships are managed at Memberships (/admin/memberships).

Adding a Membership

  1. Go to Memberships
  2. Click Add Membership
  3. Enter the contact's email
  4. Select a product
  5. Choose payment type:
    • Free - Complimentary access
    • Paid - Connected to Stripe subscription
  6. Set status (usually Active)
  7. Click Add Membership

If the email doesn't exist as a contact, one is created automatically.

Editing a Membership

  1. Find the membership in the list
  2. Click Edit
  3. Update status, payment type, or expiration
  4. Save

Membership Status

Filtering Memberships

Use filters to find specific memberships:

  1. Set criteria:
    • Product - Filter by product
    • Status - Active, expired, etc.
    • Payment Type - Free, recurring, one-time
    • Search - Find by email
  2. Results update automatically

Saving Filters as Segments

  1. Set up your filter criteria
  2. Click Save as Segment
  3. Name your segment
  4. Access it later from the segment dropdown

Stripe Integration

For memberships connected to Stripe:

Viewing Subscription Details

  1. Click on a membership
  2. Click View in Stripe (if connected)
  3. See full subscription details in Stripe Dashboard

Cancelling Subscriptions

  1. Edit the membership
  2. Click Cancel Subscription
  3. Choose:
    • Cancel at period end - Access continues until billing period ends
    • Cancel immediately - Access ends now
