Email Broadcasts

Broadcasts let you send one-time emails to your members. In Session, broadcasts are sent directly from the Page Editor - your page content becomes your email.

How Broadcasts Work

In Session, a page IS your email content. When you're ready to send:

  1. Create or edit a page with your email content
  2. Use "Send as Email" to broadcast it to members

This approach means your email content is also available on your site for members who missed it.

Sending a Broadcast

  1. Go to Pages in the main navigation
  2. Create a new page or edit an existing one
  3. Write your content using the block editor
  4. Save the page
  5. Click the dropdown menu (three dots or arrow)
  6. Select Send as Email
  7. Configure your broadcast:
    • Subject - The email subject line (defaults to page title)
    • From Name - How your name appears (optional)
    • Reply-To - Where replies go (optional)
  8. Choose your recipients
  9. Click Send

Choosing Recipients

In the broadcast modal, you can send to:

OptionDescription
All MembersEveryone with active access
All ContactsYour entire contact list
Specific ProductMembers of a particular membership
Filtered ListUse the Recipients tab to filter and select

Selecting Specific Contacts

  1. Click the Recipients tab in the broadcast modal
  2. Use filters to narrow down your list
  3. Select individual contacts with checkboxes
  4. Or use "Select All" for the filtered results

Preview Before Sending

Before you send:

  1. Click the Preview tab in the broadcast modal
  2. See exactly how your email will look
  3. Check formatting and links
  4. Return to Recipients to send

Broadcast History

Each page tracks its broadcast history:

  1. Open a page in the editor
  2. Look at the Distribution History section on the right
  3. See when the page was emailed and to how many recipients

Tips

  • Write your page content as you want the email to read
  • Use clear headings and short paragraphs
  • The page title makes a good default subject line
  • Preview before sending to catch formatting issues
  • Broadcasts are sent immediately (no scheduling yet)
