Email Sequences
Sequences (also called drip sequences) send a series of emails automatically over time. They're perfect for onboarding new members or delivering content gradually.
How Sequences Work
- A member joins or is enrolled in a sequence
- They receive emails based on a schedule you define
- Each email sends a certain number of days after the previous one
- The sequence completes when all emails have been sent
Creating a Sequence
- Go to Collections
- Create or select a collection
- Under Distribution, enable Email Sequence
- Configure the schedule
Sequence Settings
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Trigger | When to start (on access grant, manual) |
| Delay | Days between emails |
| Pages | Which collection pages to send |
| Order | Sequence follows collection page order |
Example: Welcome Sequence
A 5-day onboarding sequence:
| Day | |
|---|---|
| 0 | Welcome + getting started |
| 1 | How to access content |
| 3 | Introduction to community |
| 5 | Tips for success |
| 7 | Check-in + next steps |
Enrolling Members
Members are enrolled in sequences when:
- They purchase a product linked to the collection
- You manually grant them access
- They're imported with access to that product
Monitoring Sequences
Track sequence progress:
- Go to the collection with the sequence
- Click Sequence Status
- See which members are enrolled and their progress
Pausing and Resuming
To pause a member's sequence:
- Go to their contact record
- Find the active sequence
- Click Pause
To resume, click Resume on the paused sequence.
Editing Active Sequences
Changes Affect Future Sends
If you edit emails in an active sequence, members who haven't received that email yet will get the new version. Members who already received it are unaffected.
Best Practices
- Space emails 1-3 days apart to avoid overwhelming members
- Front-load your most important content
- End with a clear next step or call-to-action
- Keep individual emails focused on one topic
- Test your sequence with a personal email first
